StarTrek.com regrets to announce the passing of actor Gary Graham, known for his portrayal of the Vulcan ambassador Soval throughout all four seasons of Star Trek: Enterprise.

Subsequently, he secured a string of television roles on Eight is Enough, Starsky and Hutch, Knots Landing, The Dukes of Hazard, and Moonlighting. His major breakthrough came when he co-starred in the television series Alien Nation, reprising his role in its five subsequent TV movies as Detective Matthew Sikes.

Star Trek enthusiasts recognized him primarily as Soval, the Vulcan ambassador to Earth in Star Trek: Enterprise. His unfavorable attitude towards humans created challenges for both Admiral Forrest and Captain Archer.

Soval later opposed granting Archer command of the Enterprise NX-01 and subsequently held him responsible for the destruction of the P'Jem monastery.

Before Enterprise, Graham featured in the Star Trek: Voyager episode "Cold Fire" as Tanis, an Ocampan community leader whose ancestors chose to reside with the Caretaker's mate, Suspiria.

He maintained a connection with the Star Trek fandom through his participation in conventions and involvement in two Star Trek fan films.
